All About Me


My name is Charleni Cid. I graduated from high school in 2017. After I graduated, I attended Lone Star College for two years, and then I transferred to Sam Houston State University. I am currently in the education program the university provides, and I am an EC-6 Bilingual student teacher. I love teaching, that is why I choose it as a career because I want to make a difference in the community. I want to be able to help those students in need, especially the students who do not speak English. Also, I want to have the opportunity to help students grow socially and academically.

I  was born in the Dominican Republic, but when I was eleven years old I moved to Puerto Rico. I lived there for four years, and then I moved to Texas. When I arrived in Texas I did not know how to speak English, so the school dropped me one grade. I had to repeat 10th grade which I do not regret because it helped a lot with my English. It has been almost five years since then, and I am still learning English. Advice- no matter how hard it gets, never give up!

Classroom Design

The classroom I have designed is for second-grade students. My classroom design is appropriate because I designed to meet all my student’s needs. Students will be able to pay attention to their teacher, stay focus in class, and interact with other students.  The classroom design has a reading area, four round tables, four desks and one kidney table, and one square rug in from of the whiteboard. The Kidney table will be used during learning centers. As a teacher, I will take advantage of the station activities to work with a small group of students that are struggling in specific subject areas. Additionally, While designing my classroom, there were three things that I took under consideration; lectures, students’ engagement and collaboration. Therefore, instead of only having a single desk, I will have round tables. This seating arrangement will allow students to work either individually or in groups.
